If you have a network, two or more computers can be configured to share files and devices such as printers between them. With file sharing, "permissions" can be given, that allow a user on a networked computer to access files on another networked computer. These permissions can be password protected and have read only or read/write options. By sharing devices, each networked computer can, for instance, print without the need for multiple printers.
