Message Center FAQ
How do I set up my Message Center?
- Once you have logged into the Message Center, please click on the link at the top that is labeled 'Junk Email'. Once there, make sure that the 'ON' button is selected. When on, it will be a lit green button.
- Click on 'Filter Categories'. This will take you to the next page where you decide what type of filtering you would like. You may select all or any combination of the filters available. Simply click on the check box to select and click again to unselect.
- Click on 'Save Changes' to save or 'Cancel' to cancel and begin again.
- Next, click on 'Filter Sensitivity'. Choose the level of filtering that you desire.
- Click 'Save Changes' to save or 'Cancel' to cancel and begin again.
- Approved Senders allows you to add the email addresses of those with whom you regularly communicate. This ensures that their messages will automatically bypass the spam email filters.
- Blocked Senders and Approved Mailing Lists work similarly but adding addresses here will quarantine all messages from that sender in the Message Center.
Does the Message Center offer POP access?
No, at this time the only way to enter the Message Center is via a web browser.
What if I decide that I don't want my email filtered?
You can turn the Spam E-mail Assistant off at anytime by simply logging into your Message Center, and turning OFF the Junk E-mail toggle switch on the Junk E-mail page.
However, if too much legitimate e-mail is being detained, first try setting "Filter Sensitivity" to moderate or lenient and/or uncheck any "Filter Categories" that are unwanted. It also helps to explicitly list certain e-mail addresses to allow their messages through the filters, regardless of content. Do this by entering valid addresses in the Approved Senders field.
Why do I need to enable cookies when logging into my Message Center?
The main purpose of cookies is to identify you as a unique user and prepare web pages that reflect your personalized applications - is customized. When you enter the Message Center using cookies, the experience - your application settings, your quarantined email. Some information, such as your login email address, is packaged into a cookie and sent to your web browser which stores it for later use; for example, the next time you log in, your browser will send the cookie to the server so that only your password is required - saving you time. We do not track personal information in cookies or request any personal information through the Message Center - cookies are simply used to ensure you are in control of your email.
How can I read a quarantined email?
Once logged in you will be taken to the main Message Center page where you can view your quarantined email.
What happens to email I delete from the Message Center?
Once email has been deleted from the Message Center it is placed in the 'Trash Folder'. It is deleted after a period of up to 14 days. You can open the Trash folder at any time during this holding period to review and delivered previously deleted email.
What happens to email that I deliver from the Message Center?
When you deliver email from the Message Center to your email address, it is forwarded directly and immediately to your inbox. A copy is also placed in the 'Trash Folder' for a period of up to fourteen days following the receipt of the message (BestWeb does not guarantee that they will remain in the Message Center for more than a couple of days). Once this period has expired, the messages are deleted. You can open the Trash folder at any time during this holding period to review and redeliver previously delivered mail.
Does the filtering make email slower?
There is no noticeable delay. The servers are capable of processing millions of messages per day - each message within milliseconds.

Version 4 (v4) and above of Netscape and Internet Explorer.
